Sanjo Damascus Jewelery

Sanjô Munechika was a Heian period swordsmith whose blades include some of the oldest and most famed of Japanese swords. His fame is such that he features as a character in the Noh play Kokaji, in which he is assisted by a fox spirit in producing a sword for the emperor. Framework used the Damascus sword making process as the primary feature of the watch design as well as the packaging for this rare piece. The watch face was machined from a small piece of vary rare Damascus metal from an ancient swordsmith estimated to be from the 14th century.
